Just incase you are stuck for ideas, I did a quick write up on things to do in Dordogne.

The Dordogne region is situated in prime wine growing country in the south western area of France. There are more than enough attractions to keep the visitor happy and occupied in this attractive area. The Gardens of Marqueyssac in Vezac are situated just above the Dordogne and will involve a great deal of walking and some glamorous and awesome views of a natural beauty that you will not want to put your camera away.

Things to Do in Dordogne

While in Dordogne you must see the beautiful chateaux. The Chateau de Bourdeilles is listed as an historic monument and the perfect place to stop for a weekend stroll around its fabulous grounds. Wine tasting and wine tours are also very popular in the Dordogne region. Bergerac Wine Tours are likely to have you experience the knowledge of just how wine is actually made. There is certainly more to it than simply crushing grapes picked off the vine.

Many people that come to the Dordogne area want to know more about the vineyards and the fine wines that grow here. It may well be that the wine grown in this region graces the tables of almost every country in the world. The landscape is lush and the summers are warm and sultry.

The Bergerac wine industry has been alive for more than 2,000 years and as well as enjoying some fine wine tasting, you will also learn all about the history of wine making and growing in the Dordogne area. You may also want to visit some of the wonderful caves and caverns found in this area. The Vezere Cave Valleys are situated in Dordogne and is an attraction all the family will absolutely love. If history is your bag, then a visit to the Montcarat Archaeological Site will show the visitor just how the Romans used to live when they occupied France between the first and fourth centuries.

If walking round elegant gardens is the kind of attraction you desire, then you must not miss out on the Les Jardins Du Manoir D’Eyrignac, in Salignac-Eyvigues. If you really want to keep the kids happy and occupied, then be sure to take them down to one of the many amusement or theme parks that operate in the this region. The best ones are Lascuax 2 or Le Thot in Thonac. These amusement parks are packed full of some great rides and much fun for every member of the family.
